The Center provides discussion rooms equipped with whiteboards and writing materials. Rooms 233A, 233B, and the hallway blackboards are available for use by all participants.

Document printing and copying services are available upon request at the X-Zone or through your assigned conference liaison.

Option 1: Bus+Taxi

A convenient entry point from Hong Kong SAR to Mainland China is via Shenzhen Bay Port. Coaches and limousine services are available at the Transport Centre, Hall A of Arrivals Level (L5), Terminal 1. (TIL Chinalink is a recommended service provider.)
After clearing customs at Shenzhen Bay Port, proceed to the designated taxi station to travel to the Guest House (approximately 30 minutes, 50 CNY). Please use only official taxis from the designated taxi stand.
Please note: If you are entering Mainland China from Hong Kong with a visa-free transit authorization, you must use Huanggang Port rather than Shenzhen Bay Port.

Option 2: Metro+Bus/Train

Taking the Airport Express train to Kowloon Station (approximately 20 minutes, 105 HKD). The station is located in ELEMENTS shopping mall, which offers coach services to Shenzhen Bay Port (approximately 40 minutes, 52 HKD).
Since 2018, high-speed rail service between Hong Kong's West Kowloon Station and Shenzhen North Station provides the most efficient connection, with a journey time of just 20 minutes. Tickets should be purchased in advance. West Kowloon Station is connected to Kowloon MTR Station via a short walkway through ELEMENTS mall, facilitating convenient transit to and from Hong Kong Airport. Shenzhen North Station is in close proximity to SUSTech (10-minute drive or 2 metro stops).

Option 3: Ferry to Shekou Port + Taxi

1. Ferry from HK Airportʼs SkyPier to Shekou Port, Shenzhen (60 mins, ~HK$300; check schedules in advance).
   （Please do not go through Hong Kong entry formalities and baggage collection, airline baggage check-in tickets need to be handed over to the ticket counter for transfer; Please arrive 90 minutes in advance at the ticket counter of the express ferry located at the E2 transfer office to check in）
2. Clear immigration at Shekou Port .
3. Taxi to SUSTech, Show the driver this Chinese address: 南方科技大学

Option 4: MTR (Subway) via Lo Wu/Lok Ma Chau

1. Airport Express to Tsing Yi Station, transfer to Tung Chung Line → East Rail Line to Lo Wu/Lok Ma Chau Station.
2. Clear immigration, then take Shenzhen Metro Line 4 (Futian Checkpoint) or Line 1(Luohu Station)→ Line 5 to Tanglang Station.

Note: Time-consuming (3+ hours); only for budget travelers. Key Tips

• Visa: Ensure you have a China visa
• Payment: Use cash (HKD in HK, RMB in Shenzhen) or Alipay/WeChat (linked to foreign cards).
• Taxi: Use Didi in Shenzhen or show the Chinese address above to Taxi driver.

Option 1 – By Taxi

• Duration: 40–60 minutes
• Cost:¥80–200 RMB
• Prepare cash in advance.
• Exit the airport and follow signs to the official “Blue ” taxi queue (avoid solicitors).
• Show the driver this Chinese address: 广东省深圳市南山区西丽街道学苑大道1088号南方科技大学 (SUSTech).

Tips:

• Use the *Didi app* (Chinaʼs Uber) for convenience; it is possible via Alipay (支付宝）apk, you can link to it a foreign bank credit card.

Option 2 – By Metro

• Duration: 1 hour
• Cost: ¥7–10 RMB
• Metro Line 11 (Airport Line):
• From Airport Station, take Line 11 (toward Huaqiangnan 华强南 Station).
• Ride 3 stops to Qianhaiwan 前海湾 Station (~15 minutes).
• Transfer to Metro Line 5:
• At Qianhaiwan Station, switch to Line 5 (toward Huangbeiling 黄贝岭).
• Ride 11 stops to Tang lang 塘朗 Station (~30 minutes).
• Exit via Exit C, walk 5 minutes to the main (#1) SUSTech Gate

Tips:

• Pay via Alipay/WeChat app (scan QR codes at metro gates/bus) or buy a single-trip ticket at subway Information desk paying cash.
• For clarity, show staff this phrase: Tang lang 塘朗 Station.

It takes a 10 minute taxi ride for around 20 CNY to the Guest House. Beware of scammers at the railway station for car rides.

If you don't have heavy luggage, the metro purple Line 5 is pretty convenient too, just two stops at Tanglang 塘朗 (in the direction of Chiwan 赤湾) followed by a short walk to either the campus through Exit C.

Bullet trains also connect Shenzhen to Guangzhou in 30 minutes.

Two types of officially licensed taxis operate in Shenzhen: blue minivans with white roof signs and blue minivans with yellow roof signs. Both are electric vehicles operating at identical fare rates, though the yellow-roofed taxis generally offer enhanced cabin amenities and service quality (part of a local government service incentive program).

Taxi drivers typically use GPS navigation systems. Please ensure the meter is activated at the start of your journey and request a receipt upon reaching your destination. This receipt is valuable for retrieving any items you may inadvertently leave in the vehicle.

SUSTech Gate 1 is close to Tanglang 塘朗 on the purple Line 5 (Exit C).

The most convenient route to downtown Nanshan District is to go west along Line 5 to Bao'an Center 宝安中心 (in the direction of Chiwan 赤湾) and then transfer to the green Line 1 heading east towards Luohu 罗湖, getting off at High-Tech Park 高新园 (or getting off one stop earlier at Shenzhen University 深大 and transferring to the orange Line 13 for Rencaigongyuan 人才公园).

The most convenient route to downtown Futian District is to go up along Line 5 to Shenzhen North Station 深圳北站 (in the direction of Huangbeiling 黄贝岭) and then transfer to the red Line 4 heading south towards Futian Checkpoint 福田口岸, getting off at Convention & Exhibition Center 会展中心.

Free wifi is available on trains.

Shared bikes are convenient and available outside of Gate 1 of SUSTech (and elsewhere in Shenzhen), but you need to download an app in order to scan and ride them. If you know someone going with you who has one on their phone, they can often scan an additional bike for you, as there are multiple apps for different brands (blue, green, yellow).

Extends along the seashore and connects the two clusters of restaurants in Sea World, Shekou on the west and Happy Coast, Overseas Chinese Town on the east. Good for cycling, running, walking, or people-watching. Particular attractions include the Talent Park alongside the iconic bullet-shaped skyscrapper (designed as a bamboo shoot).

This greenway, officially known as Dasha River Ecological Corridor 大沙河生态长廊, is a river trail good for walking, running, and cycling which connects the SUSTech campus (adjacent to its upstream at Changlingpi Reservoir) all the way to the Shenzhen Bay (into the sea), through Peking University's and Tsinghua University's Shenzhen graduate school campuses and past the conference banquet location at MixC World (a 40 minute bike ride).

The University also has several trails on the north part of its campus. In fact, the Shenzhen city, built out of a jungle some 40 years ago, has been reshaping its landscape with parks connected by trails. Ask a local for more info.
