The standard voltage in China is 220V at 50Hz. Devices with 2-pin plugs will generally work without an adapter. However, if your device has a 3-pin plug, you will need a travel adapter. The accommodation provides adapters upon request at the front desk.

VPN ACCESS: Please note that VPN access from your home institution or a commercial provider is necessary to access certain websites while in Mainland China, including Gmail and Google services. This restriction does not apply in Hong Kong.
Currency exchange services and ATMs are readily available at both Hong Kong and Shenzhen airports (recommended).
In proximity to SUSTech, there is a currency exchange office located on the 3rd floor, east square (same side as Metro Line 5) of Shenzhen North Station, operating daily from 8:30 AM to 8:30 PM.
Temporary SIM cards for visitors are available at both Hong Kong and Shenzhen airports. Various options with different data packages are offered by local telecommunications providers.
Please bring your passport for identification when purchasing a SIM card, as registration is required.
Tap water in Shenzhen is generally not recommended for direct consumption. Complimentary bottled water will be provided in your accommodation and at the conference venue.
Please be advised that SUSTech maintains a strict smoke-free policy throughout the entire campus, including all indoor and outdoor areas.

The Center provides discussion rooms equipped with whiteboards and writing materials. Rooms 233A, 233B, and the hallway blackboards are available for use by all participants.
Document printing and copying services are available upon request at the X-Zone or through your assigned conference liaison.
Extends along the seashore and connects the two clusters of restaurants in Sea World, Shekou on the west and Happy Coast, Overseas Chinese Town on the east. Good for cycling, running, walking, or people-watching. Particular attractions include the Talent Park alongside the iconic bullet-shaped skyscrapper (designed as a bamboo shoot).
This greenway, officially known as Dasha River Ecological Corridor 大沙河生态长廊, is a river trail good for walking, running, and cycling which connects the SUSTech campus (adjacent to its upstream at Changlingpi Reservoir) all the way to the Shenzhen Bay (into the sea), through Peking University's and Tsinghua University's Shenzhen graduate school campuses and past the conference banquet location at MixC World (a 40 minute bike ride).
The University also has several trails on the north part of its campus. In fact, the Shenzhen city, built out of a jungle some 40 years ago, has been reshaping its landscape with parks connected by trails. Ask a local for more info.
A 24-hour creative and cultural district, it is also an ancient city that has witnessed nearly 1,700 years of historical changes.
Note: The concert venues in Guangzhou and Hong Kong are conveniently accessible via high-speed rail service. Trains operate between Shenzhen North and Guangzhou South stations (approximately 30 minutes), and between Shenzhen North and Hong Kong West Kowloon stations. Advance ticket purchase is recommended.
